The Best Dog Walks Around Willesden and Harlesden

As we edge closer to Summer, lighter evenings present the possibility of longer evening strolls and the potential for trying out new dog-walking routes.

So what are our favourite dog walks around Willesden and Harlesden? This blog discusses.

Roundwood Park

Up first we of course have Roundwood Park. Located just a stone's throw away from the clinic, on Harlesden Road (NW10 3SH), Roundwood Park offers a fun day out for all. The park includes a cafe (Roundwood Lodge Cafe), toilets, an aviary, and a playground. Whilst, dogs are allowed to run off the lead around the majority of the park, some areas (including the entrance and flower garden areas) enforce dog control.

The park also has numerous sporting activities, including a bowling green, and a multi-use games area.

The park is open from 5am-10:30pm daily.

King Edward VII Park

Another popular dog-walking destination near us is King Edward VII Park.

The park includes an enclosed children's play area, as well as a football and rugby pitch, a multi-use games area, and an open grassy area for dogs to run around.

The park can be found off Doyle Gardens, just behind Willesden Sports Centre. Please note, that there are two King Edward VII Parks, one in Willesden and one in Wembley.

The park is open 24/7.

Longstone Avenue Open Space

Located just opposite Roundwood Park, Longstone Avenue Open Space offers greenery to let your dog off just off Chadwick Road, NW10 4XH.

If your looking for a simple area to let your dog run, Londstone Avenue Open Space offers you precisely that.

The greenery is open 24/7.

Gladstone Park

This vast open area includes plenty of entertainment options for both dogs and the family. Situated on Dollis Hill, the park offers views of London and has its own car park (open 6am-9pm on Dollis Hill Lane).

Inside the park, there are options to explore the outdoor gym, walled garden, cafe, children’s play area, wildlife area, allotments, duck pond, and war memorial sculpture.

However, it’s important to note that dogs are not permitted within the children’s playgrounds, outside the gym, tennis courts, or multi-use game areas. It is also requested that dogs remain on the lead within the walled garden.

The park remains open 24 hours a day.

Tiverton Green

Slightly further out, Tiverton Green is a small grassy area next to a children's play area and basketball court.

This small open space also hosts an enclosed multi-use game area, outdoor gym equipment, and a cycle circuit.

The green is located off The Avenue, NW6 7NN.

Queens Park

Again, located slightly further out from Willesden and Harlesden, this Victorian park is a popular choice of dog walkers in the area. Located off Harvest Road, NW6 6SG. The park includes large greenery, a tennis court, a pitch and putt golf course, a playground, a bandstand, and a cafe.

The park is open from 7am-7pm daily.

Gibbons Recreation Ground

Lastly, tucked away, just off of Bridge Road, NW10, this quiet park has a large field where dogs can run freely, as well as a basketball court, football court, children’s play area, and outdoor gym.

The recreation grounds also offer views of Wembley Stadium.

The park is open 24/7.

Happy dog walking, from the Roundwood Team!
